Fixed Route Services:

There are six public transit bus routes serving greater Cortland County with four routes serving Cortland, Homer and Cortlandville. The bus system operates on 30 minute intervals between 6:00 AM. and 6:00 PM. Monday through Friday. Buses arrive and depart every hour and every half hour from the Cortland County Office Building on Central Ave. The buses utilize hand flagging stops. You may hand flag the driver to stop the bus for your pickup. You may call (607) 758-3383 for more information.

Fixed Route Fares:

Regular Fare Fixed City Routes ----------------------- $1.00

Youth, Senior, and Handicapped Fixed City Routes ------ $.50

Unlimited Ride-Monthly Pass --------------------------- $30.00

Authorized Route Deviation's:

(Within 3/4 mile of a regular fixed route additional charges are as follows:)

Regular Fare $1.00, plus additional Route Deviation Charge of: $1.00

Youth, Senior, Handicapped Fare $0.50, plus additional Route Deviation Charge of: $0.50

Children:

Children 5 years and under ride can ride free if they are accompanied by an adult (limit 3 children per adult) .

Handicapped Persons:

If you are handicapped, you may be entitled to a half fare discount Monday through Friday on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount, you must display a Cortland Transit Discount Card. A lift equipped bus for wheel chairs will be provided on fixed routes, with sufficient notification. NOTE: Your card must be displayed each time you board the bus. Senior Citizens:

If you are 60 years of age or more you can ride half fare ($.50) on all fixed routes. In order to receive your discount, you must display an Aging I.D. Card or a picture I.D. with your birthdate on it each time you board the bus.

Monthly Pass:

Unlimited transportation on Cortland Transit System can be yours for $30.00 per month. Ride all fixed route Cortland Transit System buses as many times as you wish for one low price within the month for which the pass is valid. Passes must be displayed each time you board and must remain in vour possession for the entire trip.

Dial-A-Ride:

(607) 758-9471 Cortland Transit System operates a county wide Dial-A-Ride system. Residents wishing to access the service must contact the dispatch office 24 hours in advance to ride. Same day requests will be honored on an available basis and a surcharge will be assessed. Dial-A-Ride is a door-to-door service that operates within Cortland County. Call 758-9471 to make a reservation.

Dial-A-Ride Fares:

Minimum Fare $3.00, Maximun Fare $6.00 *Does not include same day service surcharge. A 50% surcharge for same day service.

DON'T BE LATE!:

It is important to be on time for Cortland Transit Services. Drivers may not wait for more than three minutes for any rider. Therefore, if you delay for more than 3 minutes the driver is instructed to continue on his/her route so that other riders will not have to wait.

TO CANCEL A RIDE:

If you are unable to take your trip please call 758-3383 and cancel your ride.

Lost & Found:

If you lose or leave something behind, please call Cortland Transit at 758-3383 and give particulars about the item(s) lost as well as the date and time of the trip and the bus route you were riding. We will do our best to help you recover any items that may have been lost or left behind on one of our vehicles. If you find any lost property on a bus, please give it to the driver who will turn it in upon returning to the garage. If there is any means of identification on the article, we will make every effort to contact the owner.

Safety Tips:

The bus drivers job is getting you safely to your destination. You can help by following these safety tips. Take your seat as quickly as possible; Never change seats while the bus is moving; Never cross the street in front of a bus, oncoming traffic may not stop; Refrain from engaging in unnecessary conversation with the driver. No Pets, except guide animals.
