Who Pays For Hospice
Admission to Hospice care is based on need rather than ability to pay, and hospice services are never denied because of inability to pay. If you do not have hospice insurance coverage, Caring Community Hospice of Cortland has a sliding fee scale to determine equitable and fair charges for services.
Most hospice expenses are covered by major health insurance plans. Medicare and Medicaid have a hospice benefit which provides coverage for Hospice home care services. We will assist you in determining what will be covered by your insurance plan. In cases where insurance does not pay for all of our services, or individuals are uninsured, we rely on donations from organizations and individuals to continue providing care to those who need it.
