Hospice Volunteers
Since the hospice concept of care began, volunteers have been an integral part of the hospice team. Hospice volunteers are members of our community who donate their time to hospice. All patient and family information is treated with the strictest confidence. If you have a few hours a week to give to others, becoming a hospice volunteer may be a rewarding experience for you!
Volunteers can help hospice in a number of ways:
- Volunteers provide relief to family members - volunteers can sit with the patient so that the family member can get a much needed rest, or run errands.
- Volunteers can provide bereavement follow-up to families after the death of their loved one.
- Volunteers can provide support in the Hospice office by being a receptionist, answering the phone, assisting with mailings, etc.
- Volunteers can provide coverage at the Hospice booths at various functions.
A training program is provided for all volunteers. For more information, call the Volunteer Coordinator at: (607) 753-9105.
