Week #24 Ratings for 2006-2007 Season

     These Ratings will be updated weekly, on Saturdays throught the season.

     A teams power rating is a reflection of that teams past performance .  Power ratings are a better indication of a teams relative strength than simple won/loss percentages because they take into account additional factors, such as, a teams schedule strength and the margin of win or loss.  To predict the likely winner of any NBA game, add a home court advantage of three points to the home teams rating and compare to the away teams rating.  The difference is the expected spread in points for the game.

      Larger adjustments in the ratings are made at the beginning of the season.  Expect to see some fairly large variation in the ratings for some teams in the first two or three weeks.  By the 4th or 5th week, most teams will have found their level and the variations will be smaller.

       The AVG PR, MAX PR, and MIN PR are the average, maximum and minimum power ratings, including the current rating and the previous three weeks updates.  These values used in conjunction with the graphs should give you a good idea where your favorite team is now, where it's been, and where it might be headed in the near future.
